On Saturday, April 9th we will be working with a small group of NC State students as part of their Service Raleigh Project to perform clean-up efforts in and around the neighborhood. This year we will be continuing our efforts to clean up along the Rocky Branch creek and greenway that runs through the Dorothea Dix property. As always we encourage Boylan Heights neighbors to assist us along side the NC State students. We will meet in the parking lot beside the greenway entrance on the Dorothea Dix property at 9am on the 9th (***For past participants, please note the different meeting location.***). The project typically ends after lunch (provided by the Boylan Heights Neighborhood Association).
When is it? Sunday August 9th, 4pm to 7pm
What is it? The Big Boylan Bash is a chance for neighbors to get together on a Sunday afternoon in August to hear great live music, socialize, eat and sample some tasty beverages. In the process we also try to raise a little money for the Boylan Heights Association.
Where is it? Dupont Circle Park (near the corner of S. Boylan Ave and Dupont Circle)
The Bands? The exciting news is that we have have three bands scheduled to play the Bash: Walking Deadbeats, Roar the Engines and the Ghost of Saturday Nite. All of these bands have a member living in the neighborhood. Check out the links to their music and make sure to come out to support your neighbor’s artistic endeavors.
The Sponsors? So far we have received generous support from Clancy and Theys, the Northgate Group, Peter Rumsey, Studio Joyeux, Councilman Russ Stephenson, CitySpace Homes, Domino’s Pizza, Blam! Studios, Interactive Playgrounds and Moonlight Pizza.
